- Choose how you ship. With Depop Shipping, enter the label price for your parcel size as the shipping charged to the buyer, even if you offer a discount or free shipping. If you ship your own way, enter what the buyer pays for shipping and your postage as your shipping cost.
- Set your buyer’s sales tax rate (Depop charges processing on it), switch on the boosting fee if the sale came from a Boosted Listing, and enter what the item cost you.
- Read your fees, payout and profit, or enter the profit you want to get the lowest price to list at.
Depop fees for US sellers in 2026
Since July 15, 2024 Depop has charged no selling fee to sellers based in the US. What you pay when an item sells is Depop Payments’ processing fee of 3.3% + $0.45, charged on everything the buyer pays for the item, the shipping and the sales tax, and a 12% boosting fee when the sale came from a Boosted Listing.
| Fee | Rate | Charged on |
|---|---|---|
| Selling fee | None (0%) | Removed for new US listings on July 15, 2024 |
| Payment processing | 3.3% + $0.45 | The item price plus shipping and any sales tax; once per order, bundles included |
| Boosting fee | 12%, only on boosted sales | The item price, excluding tax, plus shipping you arrange yourself; never a Depop Shipping label |
| Depop Shipping label | The label price for your parcel size | Paid by the buyer at checkout and deducted from your sale with the fees |
| Shipping discount | $2.00, $3.00, $4.00 off, or free | Comes out of your earnings; set when listing on iOS |
| Marketplace fee | Up to 5% + $1.00, paid by the buyer | The item price, not shipping or tax; never taken from your earnings |
How you ship changes your payout
Depop has no price tiers, so no price is awkward to list at; shipping is what moves your payout. Here is a $40.00 item with an $8.00 label and 6% sales tax, shipped five ways:
| Shipping | Fees and shipping you cover | Payout | After postage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Depop Shipping, the buyer pays the label | $2.13 | $37.87 | $37.87 |
| Depop Shipping with $2 off for the buyer | $4.06 | $35.94 | $35.94 |
| Depop Shipping with $4 off for the buyer | $5.99 | $34.01 | $34.01 |
| Depop Shipping, free for the buyer | $9.85 | $30.15 | $30.15 |
| Your own label, the buyer pays $8 | $2.13 | $45.87 | $37.87 |
Free shipping costs you $7.72 on this sale: the whole label, less the processing you would have paid on buyer-paid shipping and its tax. Discounts sit in between: every dollar off is a dollar out of your payout. With your own label you keep the buyer’s shipping but buy postage yourself, and a boosted sale pays the boosting fee on that shipping too.
Worked example: a $40.00 vintage tee
You sell a vintage band tee that cost you $12.00 for $40.00. The buyer pays $8.00 for a Depop Shipping label (an illustration: Depop prices the label from the parcel size you pick) and 6% sales tax, $2.88. These are the numbers the calculator above starts with:
| Sold price | $40.00 |
|---|---|
| Shipping charged to buyer | +$8.00 |
| Selling fee (0% of $40.00: none for US sellers) | $0.00 |
| Payment processing (3.3% + $0.45 on $50.88: item price + shipping + $2.88 sales tax) | −$2.13 |
| Depop Shipping label (paid with the buyer's $8.00 shipping) | −$8.00 |
| Payout from Depop | $37.87 |
| Your shipping cost | $0.00 |
| Item cost | −$12.00 |
| Profit | $25.87 |
There is no selling fee. Processing is $2.13: 3.3% of the $50.88 the buyer paid for the tee, the shipping and the tax, plus $0.45. The $8.00 of shipping pays for the label, so Depop pays $37.87 into your Depop Balance. After the $12.00 the tee cost you, your profit is $25.87: a 53.9% margin on the $48.00 of item and shipping. If the buyer found it through a Boosted Listing, the 12% boosting fee adds $4.80 and your payout falls to $33.07.
What Depop’s fees are charged on
- The whole payment, tax included. Processing applies to the item price, the shipping and the sales tax Depop collects for the buyer’s state, even though the tax never reaches you.
- Boosted sales only. The boosting fee applies when the buyer saw the boosted listing, even without clicking it, and bought within 28 days, including after you stop boosting.
- Depop Shipping labels. The label is deducted from your sale and is never part of the boosting fee. With free shipping you are charged for the entire label.
- Bundles. Processing is charged once per bundle transaction, not per item.
- Refunds. If a sale is refunded, the processing and boosting fees are reversed automatically.
- Dollars only. Zero selling fees apply to US-based sellers and USD sales.
What the buyer pays
On top of your price and shipping, a US buyer pays sales tax and Depop’s Marketplace fee: up to 5% of the item price plus up to $1.00, shown exactly at checkout. For the tee that is at most $3.00, so the buyer pays up to $51.00 before tax. None of it is taken from your payout, but it is part of the price a buyer weighs up.
What will my buyer pay?
Marketplace fee: up to $3.00. The buyer pays up to$51.00, plus sales tax where it applies.
How to pay less in Depop fees
- Let the buyer pay for the label. On the $40.00 tee it leaves you $37.87 instead of $30.15 with free shipping.
- Pick the right parcel size. The label price comes from the size in your listing, and carriers can charge you extra if the parcel is heavier than the label allows.
- Boost what needs it. A boosted sale costs 12% more, so boost slow sellers, not items that would sell anyway.
- Bundle. A bundle pays the $0.45 processing charge once instead of once per item.
- Price for offers. Fees follow the final price, so price with room to accept an offer.
Depop fee changes
- : the Boosted Listings Policy set the boosting fee at 12% for UK and US sellers, on listings created from this date (Depop’s fee table footnote). Australian sellers pay 8%, and a listing boosted before this date may still be charged the previous 8% too — check your receipt.
- : the Marketplace fee for US buyers began, up to 5% of the item price plus up to $1.00.
- : Depop removed the 10% selling fee for US sellers on all new listings; the payment processing fee stayed.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Depop take from a sale in the US?
There is no selling fee. Depop takes payment processing of 3.3% + $0.45 on what the buyer pays for the item and shipping, sales tax included, plus a 12% boosting fee only if the sale came from a Boosted Listing. On a $40.00 item with an $8.00 label and 6% tax, that is $2.13.
Does Depop still charge a 10% selling fee?
Not for US sellers. Depop removed the 10% selling fee for new listings on July 15, 2024, and its fee table now charges no selling fee to sellers based in the US selling in dollars. Sellers outside the UK, US and Australia still pay 10%.
What is the Depop Marketplace fee?
A fee the buyer pays, not you: up to 5% of the item price plus up to $1.00, not charged on shipping or tax, with sales tax added on it where it applies. On a $40.00 item that is at most $3.00. It started for US buyers on July 18, 2024 and never comes out of your earnings.
Does Depop charge fees on sales tax?
Yes. Depop collects and remits US sales tax for you, but the tax is included in the total its payment processing fee is charged on. At 6% tax, a $50.00 sale pays $2.20 in processing instead of $2.10, $0.10 more.
How much is the Depop boosting fee?
12% for US sellers, under the Boosted Listings Policy in effect since March 23, 2026: charged on the item price, plus shipping if you arrange your own, and never on a Depop Shipping label. You pay it only when the buyer saw your boosted listing and bought within 28 days. On the $40.00 example it is $4.80.
What should I list at on Depop?
Use “What should I list it at?” in the calculator. For $20.00 profit on an item that cost you $10.00, with the buyer paying an $8.00 label and 6% sales tax, list at $31.84. Offers lower the price the fees are charged on, so leave room for them.
